We are excited to announce that The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe has received multiple nominations from various prestigious bodies this award season.
The ITV mini-series has been nominated for the Best Mini-Series award at the BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and for Best Drama Series at the 2023 Broadcasting Press Guild Awards. In addition, it has also received a Broadcast nomination for Best Drama Series.
Lead actress, Monica Dolan, has also been nominated for her outstanding performance by the Royal Television Society for the Best Leading Actress award. Her performance is a highlight of the series and has been widely acclaimed by both critics and audiences alike.
The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe is a compelling and emotionally charged TV series. The series is based on the real-life events of John Darwin and his wife Anne. The couple, who were facing financial difficulties, faked John’s death in a canoe accident so that they could claim his life insurance. However, their plan was eventually uncovered, and they were sentenced to prison.
